An Ordinary Moment…
Sometimes God meets us in the most ordinary moments… and turns them into something we don’t forget.
Last night my eyeglasses broke… and when I say I’m blind without them, I truly mean it. I tried getting by with my blue light glasses, but seeing clearly just wasn’t happening.
So today, I took my broken glasses in, hoping they could be fixed.
They couldn’t.
But God already had a plan to use this moment for something unexpected.
⸻
A Simple Act That Meant Everything
The sweet lady helping me remembered me… remembered how bad my eyes are… and instead of sending me on my way because they couldn't be fixed, she took my lenses and placed them into another frame.
Then she handed them back to me… for free.
Just like that, I could see again.
And in that moment, it felt like a little heavenly hug from the Lord.
I felt seen and understood. I felt valued. I felt loved.
⸻
The Heart Behind the Moment
Isn’t that what we’re all longing for?
To be seen.To be understood.
To be valued.
To be loved.
And what struck me most is how God used such a simple act to reflect something so much deeper.
Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
She didn’t have to help me. She could have simply moved on. But instead, she paused. She remembered. She chose to serve. That’s a servant heart.

Living It Out Daily
Jesus modeled this kind of life everywhere He went. He saw people others overlooked. He met needs others ignored. He showed compassion in moments that seemed small… but meant everything.
Hebrews 13:16 "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
Kindness may feel simple in the moment…but it carries eternal impact.
We don’t need big opportunities to make a difference.
We just need to be willing to notice.
To slow down.
To care.
To serve.
⸻
A Reminder for Today
Today, her kindness helped me see again physically…but it also helped me see something spiritually. God is still working. God is still using people. And there are still servant hearts walking around, being His hands and feet.
So today, I’m asking myself…
Who can I notice?
Who can I serve?
How can I be a “heavenly hug” for someone else?
Because what feels small to us… might be exactly what someone else is praying for.
